Developer comes back to us for a second sales model.

When we produced a sales model for this house builder last year it was the first time they’d used a 3D model as a marketing tool for one of their developments. They were very pleased with the model when it was completed and it obviously worked well because they came straight back to us for this new project, which has been equally well received. The model is at 1:200 scale which works well for this type of mid-size development because, as you can see from the images above, it allows us to show a high level of detail for both the buildings and the overall site (roads, paving, landscaping, etc.).

Our Latest Projects | Modelmakers | Housing model at 1:200 scale

Detailed marketing model for national developer

We’ve made three of these housing development models already this year and we’ve got four more in the pipeline over the next couple of months. 1:200 is an ideal scale for these types of models because it allows us to show a good level of detail but keeps the model reasonably compact, which is important if it’s going into a cramped sales cabin on site. For larger developments with over 100 plots we sometimes have drop down to 1:250 scale, just to keep the model at a manageable size.

We’re proud to say that much of our business is from repeat customers and this is one such example. We made a display model for the client last year and they were so pleased with it they came back to us for two more. The company produces grass stabilisation and reinforcement systems and needed some 3D mock ups of how these systems worked to take to trade shows and exhibitions. The first one proved so useful they were delighted to order these new models for use at this year’s shows. All the models were designed to break down for easy transportation.

Our Latest Projects | Modelmakers | 1:1250 Masterplan Model - March 2007

1:1250 Masterplan Model

Commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government through an exhaustive tendering process, this model’s role was to illustrate the new infrastructure and planning proposals for a major new development area in the docks and coastal fringes of Llanelli, South Wales. The model showed new road links, new residential areas, and commercial development areas. It also used button activated fibre optic lighting to highlight six different development zones.
